Constitution of the Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB)
Preamble
We, the cricketers of Bangladesh, recognizing the need for unity, welfare, and professional representation, hereby establish the Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) as a non-political, non-profit organization dedicated to safeguarding the interests of cricketers and promoting the spirit of the game.
Article 1: Name
The name of the organization shall be: Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB).
Article 2: Objectives
To protect the rights and welfare of all cricketers in Bangladesh.
To provide support—financial, legal, medical, and educational—to current and former cricketers.
To maintain a professional relationship with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and other relevant authorities.
To uphold the integrity and dignity of cricket in Bangladesh.
To promote cricket-related employment, training, and rehabilitation opportunities.
Article 3: Membership
Eligibility: Membership shall be open to all current and former professional cricketers of Bangladesh.
Types of Membership:
Regular Members (Active cricketers)
Associate Members (Retired or non-playing professionals)
Honorary Members (By special resolution)
Rights and Responsibilities:
Members shall have voting rights (as per type).
Members must adhere to the CWAB Code of Conduct.
Article 4: Executive Committee
The affairs of CWAB shall be managed by an Executive Committee, elected every 2 years.
The committee shall include:
President
Vice-President
General Secretary
Joint Secretary
Treasurer
Executive Members (at least 5)
All decisions shall be made democratically.
Article 5: Meetings
Annual General Meeting (AGM): Shall be held once every year.
Emergency Meetings: Can be called by the Executive Committee with prior notice.
Quorum: One-third of members shall constitute a quorum.
Article 6: Finance
The association is a non-profit entity.
Funds may be collected through:
Membership fees
Donations and sponsorships
Fundraising events
All accounts shall be audited annually and made available to members.
Article 7: Amendments
Amendments to this Constitution must be approved by at least two-thirds majority in an AGM or special meeting.
